Thinking about value

How would you assess the value of your archive?

In terms of his own perception of the value of his archive, Power says: “I'm really not sure. I’ve been working for a long time and am confident about the quality of the work; it’s built on solid foundations and I’ve done enough of quality that makes me feel reasonably confident.

Power explains that, until recently, he tended to miss out on the big survey shows, but that this has changed siince he made his Polish work. "Curators do seem to be taking more notice of me now, which is very encouraging. I've never been particularly good at networking, preferring to quietly get on with the work and hope, believe, that people who can make a difference will eventually take notice. I guess, over time, that is exactly what has happened and I’m gaining recognition, based on solid foundations. But it has been a long journey and I've had to remain patient throughout.“
