Artists, both established and emerging, need to think through the implications for their work, what future they want for it, what level of public access, and how much supporting and contextual information should be retained and made available. The project is investigating these questions through case studies and research which will lead to practical guidance for current and future generations of practitioners.

• What do you want to happen to your work and archive? Who might be interested in it?
• What are the implications for you of a public institution or collecting body taking your archive (financially, legally, emotionally)?
• How would you assess the value of your archive?
